PPRuNe pages not displaying correctly

I'm using IE8 on a new Windows 7 64 bit PC but I can't get PPRuNes web page to display correctly. It merely shows as a white page with pictures as red crosses.I previously used IE8 on XP Home on another PC and the webpage displayed correctly. The only difference I can find is that I don't have Java installed on my new PC.I think I had this problem on my old PC before but can't remember the solution.I presume there is one?!

The solution is that I unblocked 3rd party adverts in my firewall's web filtering settings (my firewall is VIPRE).

(I'm always talking to myself)

Before switching to the Mac, I seem to remember depressing F5 to fix this.
