Software for automatically filling in pilot application forms

Hello,

I'm planning on doing a little project with a few mates from uni to keep our CVs ticking over.

We were wondering if airline pilots would find it useful if you had a tool bar in Microsoft Explorer & Firefox that would automatically fill out airline application forms.

You would fill out all the information once (including all the various hours breakdowns) and then whenever you visit an airline's application form the information is already filled in and you just have to press the form entry button.

Specifically my questions are:

1) Would you use it?

2) Do pilots keep an up to date application on file with dozens of airlines or do you just target a few, in which case would the time saving be enough to justify using it?

There are already form fill functions built into IE and Firefox, but these are only useful if the forms were in exactly the same format. Ypu would have the same problem in the formfill you design...

No. An experienced HR rep will see straight through robotic job applications.

You may wish to research employment law, data protection law etc. as you may well find that "keeping applications on file" is somewhat discouraged these days in order to ensure equality and fairness. Also, you'll only be "on file" (for a short period) if you applied for an actual job posting (incase there are queries raised over the selection process for that role) .... if you just randomly sent in your CV, in most cases it will be binned.

One aspect of the Amstrad PCW that I (still) miss was the ability to assign a phrase to every keystrike on the keyboard. After highlighting the phrase you pressed (something like) Copy + 'key' and then when you wanted to reproduce it it was (something like) Paste + 'key'.

I found it extremely useful.
AFAICR there was a limit of (26?) characters for each saved phrase.

Now why can't Microshaft do something useful like that?
