SD - just as the thread (yesterday) was getting 'interesting' it vanished without trace. Any chance of finding out whether it was 'ducked' or OP? OP called 'sysyphus' but now also 'vanished'.

BOAC,

The thread was pulled by the management, for legal reasons. The OP had made only that one post so now has zero posts.

I thought that all posts by newbies were vetted before being allowed onto the board, does this no longer apply?

A common misconception.

Posts from new members (those with fewer than a certain number of posts) are indeed held pending approval but ONLY if they ALSO contain certain key words or any URLs.

The key word list is fairly long, and includes "Viagra", for instance.

The primary function of the approval process is to block spammers. 99.99% of spam attempts never see the light of day. But it has beneficial secondary effects also.

I understand that this is completely the wrong forum in which to have raised this, but I had good reason. Can we expect any update from said 'management'?

BOAC,

You are right, it isn't the place! No offence, but I can't really discuss it here.

PM to you, SD. Look at it as 'troubleshooting any technical problems you may have with the forums.'?
