Any recommendations for Notebooks?

I'm about to start a contract that will mean being away from home quite a bit, so I would like to get a notebook to take with me.

I don't want a fullsize laptop due to weight and size etc. and I suspect the main thing I will use it for is to watch films so I'm interested in a good quality screen - does anyone have any tips for what to look for?

The Sonys look good but are pricey - are they worth it?

The Sonys look very nice, as usual, but don't seem to have features to justify their double price. I like my Dell Mini-9 for travel.

However, be aware that most netbooks do not contain an internal DVD drive. If you want to watch a DVD you have to have an external drive, and you also have to be content with the small screen.
