Downloading Youtube clips to use the music only

Is there any way that I can download clips from youtube and save the music in a format that I can use either on a CD or an Ipod?

I have somebody lined up to play the music on a good sound system in the church.

Getting married and the resident organist is awful!! I have a friend who is going to play the hymns for us, but we need the Imperial Russian Anthem to enter to and the Sound of Music wedding march to leave to and they are a bit beyond my friend. They will be used on a "one off" basis and I should be grateful for any help you can give.

Specifically, I am looking for:

YouTube - Imperial Russian Anthem

YouTube - Wedding Processional from "The Sound of Music"

Many thanks in anticipation of PPRuNe folks coming good as always.

Good luck with that! I will be interested too.

In theory, either SUPER or Quick Media Convertor will do the job, but I've never succeeded with either. SUPER has converted one or two to MPEG, but nothing will persuade it to do audio only.

Install Firefox.

Install the Firefox Add-on 'Downloadhelper' to download the clips to your PC (as .flv files)

Find and install a good FLV player if you simply want to replay the files. Or a FLV to WMV/AVI or whatever converter programme if you want to do something more.

Job done

I have a USB record player which produces MP3s and I'm sure there's an LP of Reginald Dixon on the Hammond Organ here.

Can you fit 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside' in somewhere?

Youtube Downloader

There is also a program YouTube Downloader - Software to download and convert YouTube video

This allows you to download and convert into any format.

Good luck with the wedding!!

A really primitive solution (as you might expect from a one-time GPO telecomms enginer) is to connect the audio output from your PC to the input of your home stereo system. Play the files on the PC and play the sound over the system, or record to tape (or whatever).

My audio system has a lot of processing adjustments I can make and produces excellent cassettes for use in my car which doesn't have a CD player or USB for my MP-3 player (don't laugh, it's a Ford).

Oh God, i'm so depressed. Brain the size of a planet and technology is passing me by.....

Try Realtek AvRack, works with AC97 onboard sound, might work with others.
