Spotify me.
One was introduced to the delights of Spotify last night and one has downloaded the program and listened to some music i've not heard in a while. All well and good, but on one's laptop is a program called 'Little Snitch' which monitors requests from outside to connect to various ports on said laptop.
During the playing of tracks it became obvious that Little Snitch was working overtime informing me of loads of IP addresses trying to connect to me. This was a bit of a suprise, as I had imagined that all the tracks were held on Spotify's servers and that was that, yet this would seem to indicate that I and other users were hosting bandwidth, a bit like on the BBC's iPlayer and similar.
Could someone please enlighten me as to how this system works ?
Thanks
SHJ

You are, of course, correct sir, I should have read their gumpf, but was too busy rushing to sample the wares than to read the small print, or perhaps large print and wanted to hear it from 'the bloke down the (virtual) pub'
