That's the expectation for the Chrome browser (on any platform): feeding back your browser history etc. to be used for "targeted" ads. This Chrome OS will be open source, so the OS code will be examined by lots of programmers, but I expect the Chrome browser will remain closed and proprietary for that reason.

Voluntary divide and conquer has always been the Achilles heel of Linux home computing. With the muscle of Google behind it, I think this is at last going to be something to cause late night indigestion in Redmond.
