XP Networking trouble
Unfortunately, search seems to dislike the word xp...
I'm trying to set up an adhoc network between two machines running xp home. Understand that home hasn't got networking capabilities like pro does, but I have had these two machines connected in the past.
They connect via a belkin wireless router, can ping one another and both ip addresses show up in the dhcp client list.
The machine that acts in effect as the server can see the other box, but not the other way round. However, if I turn off the firewall on box 1, then box 2 sees it no problem, so I know that the windows firewall is my problem. Trouble is, I cannot see where in the exceptions menu to make the change to allow the 2nd box through, or am I looking in the wrong place??
