Dongle's

Hi
Further to my last question about SCANNER CABLES, the cable that came with the scanner has TWO DONGLES on it as supplied by the maker.
If I get the extension kindly stated by a user can I use these cables that DEO NOT have DONGLE'S fitted ???.

Are you sure they were dongles?

Probably just high frequency filters clapped over the sheath but perhaps molded in.

Just plug the manfr. supplied cable into the active extension you buy. Sorted!

Are you sure the connection is USB and not SCSI as those "Dongles" could be SCSI terminators

The "dongles" are probably simply ferrite cores to block interference.

In his previous thread, SPIT provided the make and model of the scanner, and it is definitely a USB interface.
