Need to purchase a legit copy of XP or Vista here in the UK. Where is the least costly, retail or mail order, for the afore mentioned?

I would think Ebay, being very careful that the listing is from someone in the UK with lots of sales, 99.9% positive feedback, and the ad says it includes an unused certificate of authenticity.

If you only wanted it for a few months, I'd have suggested the free Beta trial version of Windows 7 - which is excellent (far better than XP or Vista). I think the trial is now closed to new applications, though.

Seven really is very good. XP though, if your heart is set on it is readily available on Ebay, and what Keef said.
