Major problems

I have a major problem with windows bootup and it tells me I have ro relaod a certain file during the BIOS stage (pre windows)- This is not a problem as I have the CD ROM and can simply boot from the windows disk and do a repair. I just have to specify the CD ROM as the boot disk in the BIOS.

BUT- My keyboard is a USB one and the drivers for USB are not loaded until a lot later in the startup routine so cant use my keyboard to access the gios.

No Problem- I "borrowed" a PS2 Keyboard from work and plugged it in to do the BIOS re jig- BUT my comp doesnt even see the PS2 keyboard (in fact I've tried 2 different keyboards- same result)

Any suggestions? Can I access the BIOS without a keyboard?

Win xp with all updates

Sorry to say the obvious, but when you attach the keyboard, the PC is powered down?

Strange how a PS2 port one wouldnt work?

I am thinking that the BIOS may have a setting to disable PS2 port? if so, the only way would be to reset the BIOS via jumpers on the MainBoard or via another means like taking the batt out could work.
