Netgear
If its not one thing its another.
I changed the master computer. I have a netgear wireless router. I used to type 198.162.1.1 into the browser to access the router. I did not have a sign on name or password. It was easy. I put in the new computer, now it asks me for a sign on name and password. I try all that I can find, including ones that are listed in my master record as such, and it refuses to let me in. Is there a place the information might be stored?
Can I do a full reset on the router using the button provided on the router case (Reset factory defaults), will that cancel all passwords etc and let me start again? I don't want to try it in case I lose the router altogether, but it might be my only option.

If you give me the model number I may be able to help further. Also thats a funny number to access a router. Usually for most netgears its 192.168.0.1
or 192.168.1.1

You're not looking at your router. You're looking at someone else' computer, possibly in British Columbia.
Fix yer typo and I expect things will automagically start working the way you want. As mentioned before, 192.168.0 or 1.1 should fix it.

Geeze louise.. It might just be a typo as you say. When I get back home I will give it a try. I did try the admin pasword and it did not work, probably because it was really some guy in Iceland with a Firewall.
No wonder I call myself a boofhead.
