Firefox not able to open private flying forum??

Strange one - why can't I view the topic on age and blood pressure on the Medical and Health Forum? When I click onto that particular thread, it will not open, even if I use the back door method of going via a participant's post history. No problems with any others.

I feel a bit guilty about this because it may have something to do with a tongue in cheek post I made a few days ago, on the "impacted earwax" thread. My "home remedy" was WD-40 after supposedly having set fire to my hair with an ear candle that someone else had recommended. I said that it removed earwax and put a nice shine on my now supposedly bald head....

A number of posts were removed almost immediately (all references to ear candles and WD-40).

I notice now the forum is back but with a "health warning" header.

The mods may have been prompted into having a bit of a cleanup. Public liability worries and all that.

P.S. Please don't squirt WD-40 into your ears, I was only joking. Anyone who uses a remedy posted on a public website without seeking professional advice is not too bright.

Have the same problem with a thread on Rotorheads about first twin rating - just get a blank screen with Firefox very proudly telling me "done".

Cheers

So was it ear candles, or WD-40?

Sorry, meant to update this earlier - techies are aware and are investigating the problems (there are a handful of threads displaying this fault).

As IB also own Jelsoft (VBulletin), it is hoped that they will locate the problem and at least prevent future occurrences, if not release the posts currently imprisoned in electronic limbo.

Unhappy

The whole of the "Private Flying" forum now seems inaccessible.

VERY strange when for the last two or three days access was getting bad to the (extremely legally contentious) "Tigers for Kids" thread.

This is without doubt a serious software bug / data corruption.

I have already informed Internet Brands (the owners) tech support that I myself can no longer access the Private Flying Forum.

I sincerely hope that the problem will be resolved in the near future.

In the interim, a partial work around is to log off and view the forum as a guest, although I appreciate it is unsatisfactory as it is not possible to post.

Also can't access PF. Had me worried my postings on jet-blast had something to do with it.

I've got the same problem. Tried logging in from several computers/ISP's and none will let me access the PF forum. No errors reported but just a blank page with browser reporting "Done" and correct address in title bar but no page.

PF still not working. Any feedback from mods as to when it will be fixed?

Firefox not able to open private flying forum
If you download the 'IE tab' add on and then left click on it's tray icon before opening PF forum you will find it works ok, but you will get adverts.

I'm getting very strange things from PPRuNe when I open it in IE tab, I get a virus alert (tracking cookie) and all the forums have a padlock on them but they open when clicked on.

Server software hiccup, by the sound of it.

Great fun to try to find on a big bulletin board like this.

It is under investigation, but I have no further information, nor any estimate as to when normal service will be resumed for everyone.
