Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 2735 Start-up/Restore problems

Hi guys,

I've had the above laptop for a pretty short time, only 2-3 months and it has been working fine until last night.

I shut it down at one point in the evening and then later came back to it and turned it on again, however once I turned it on, it has come up with a black screen, with the message saying:

'Windows Error Recovery

Windows has failed to start. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this.'

I don't understand how this has actually come about, as neither of those options ^ are relevant to me.

However, I have tried selecting the recovery option, I've tried pressing F8 numerous times to get to recovery, however when I have selected it, it simply does not recover the system.

I've tried overnight, I left it on all night 11pm - 10am to see if anything happened in its 'recovery' mode but nothing did, it just remains on a blank screen, with an oversized cursor arrow.

Does anyone know what (if anything ) I can do?

Thanks!

I don't know which Operating System you are using, but try to boot using the CD disk supplied with the machine, Not just F8 on Start up. See what results messages you receive and post the results here. I think you might have a currupted or defective Hard Disk drive.

PS I'm a Fujitsu Drive user - you might need to access their website if you can get the PC booted and try out their drive diagnostics.

This Might be worth a go Fujitsu | MHW2080AT | Drivers & Software

How much RAM - SP status Etc.
