Vista and UAC
Now I'm starting to get angry.
Many programs under Vista will not start unless they have the 'run as administrator' box checked. I've now found, following a startup repair, that this check box on many of my programs is now greyed out and can't be amended, even though I am the main user!
Is there any way of ridding myself of this turbulent priest? (Going 'back' to XP is not an option).

Have you tried what I was advised to do on this forum and go to the .exe file and right click on that? It offers Run As Administrator there.
I ran one machine with a reticent Word Perfect like that, and hey-presto, away it went. Not on the other machine however. Never worked that one out.
Funny thing was, it fixed that particular fault,(wouldn't save) and never had to be started like that again.
