Router blocks incorrect IP address
Hi all,
I'm running a small network of 3 PCs all running XP. The network is through a Belkin router. I'm trying to stop a shopfloor PC from connecting to the internet. The IP addresses are clearly shown on my router set up page but when I select an address to block it blocks one of the other PCs. I have checked the PC names etc and the names are correct as shown on the router page. I'm completely stumped. Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

It is quite possible that with DHCP assigned IP addresses, the addresses change from one PC to another from time to time.
Either use Reservations (so that the same DHCP address is always assigned to the same PC) or use fixed IP addresses (non-DHCP).
If you can block by MAC address that will also work, as MAC addresses are globally unique and independent of IP address or computer name.
