Vista SP1 downloaded and internet connection stops!!
Got a download message saying that Vista Service Pack 1 was available for download and naive fool that i am, I pressed the download button and after a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time it was evenyually finished. Upon trying to restart my internet connection the following message came up:
Driver blocked due to incompatibility. True Vector Internet Monitor has one or more drivers with known incompatibilities with this version of windows. Contact Checkpoint Inc. to obtain compatible versions prior to installing software.
Checkpoint Inc was of no real help and so my Q to those of you who know about these sort of things is, do I need SP1 on my Vista and if so what can I do about the download problem I have???? Thanks in advance from a bit of a 'puter Luddite

True Vector is the main part of Zone Alarm. I think you need to look at Information about programs that are known to experience a loss of functionality when they run on a Windows Vista Service Pack 1-based computer which refers to uninstalling ZA and downloading a newer update.

Notice to all vista users
I have just purchased a small 13.3" screen Note book that starts with a Blue logo beginning with the one after third letter of the alphabet - Running XP Pro - because its compatable with my ancient exsisting kit. SP3 pre installed - It just "ran out of the box" (You need quotes) other wise I might be apprehended. Do not be forced by the commercial might of a company based in Redmond V, into purchasing that spawn of old Hobb himself, Vista. Its still a DOG of an operating system (but improving slowly) - PS the TP module (to enable disk encryption), cost all of £10 xtra.
Mods, I'm not advertising - I think several companies still provide the option of XP as an operating system - In my experence (limited) its still a better bet for "ordinary joe" users like me.

if you have zone alarm installed on your pc just remove it. you shouldn't really need this as windows has its' own firewall built in.
uninstall ZA, reboot and make sure the windows firewall is on.
defender also provides added protection.
and no, ZA isn't much better than WFW as they basically do the same thing
