Importing Bookmark Files
Hot List/Bookmarks
Windows (all)
Article: 77, Date: 2001-06-07
bookmark, hotlist, favorites, import
In order to import Netscape bookmark files into Opera, please right-click on the Hotlist (press F4 to toggle your Hotlist), and select "File/Insert File" and choose the extension "HTML/Netscape Bookmarks (.htm, .html)". Now browse your way to the folder in which your Netscape bookmarks are located, usually something like this:
CProgram Files\Netscape\Users\[insert user here]
The file is probably called "bookmark.htm", unless you've altered its name in some way. Highlight it and press the "OK" button to import the bookmarks.
In order to import Internet Explorer favorites files into Opera, please right-click on the Hot List (press F4 to toggle your Hot List), and select "File/Insert Internet Exporer favorites". This will bring up a special searching window in which to look for the favorites file - more often than not, your system will locate it for you before presenting you with this screen. Press "OK" to import the bookmarks.
