Unhappy Hotmail

How do I close a Hotmail account without waiting for it to expire after 90 (?) days?
My kids have hotmail accounts and there is a lot of inappropriate stuff received that I have to filter prior to use.

6. Account Cancellation
How do I remove my Hotmail account?
Currently, the only way to permanently close your Hotmail account is to refrain from signing into it for 60 days. Accounts are automatically purged from our servers after 60 days of inactivity. If you need your account to be removed for any reason, do not sign into it again and it will be automatically closed after 60 days.

Bus afraid there is no other way, might be worth removing their accounts from Outlook express or whatever you use, and use your ISP e-mails instead. If you reregister using a different hotmail account, the spam will just start again no doubt.

The hotmail bulk filter is quite good, gets rid of most of the crap i get. Have you tried switching it on?

Try using Yahoo at www.yahoo.com Same type of deal as Hotmail but only the very occasional junk letter and none of the porn stuff.

Just be wary where you post your address. I have a few hotmail accounts - 1 of them was only used when entering a Just Planes Videos photo comp. Since that day, I receive about 4-5 spam mails a day. Only place they could have got my address was thru the photo comp...
