Post Dodgy monitor!

Just wondering if anyone could help?
My system is 2 years old. The image on my monitor has started spuriously jumping, and sometimes staying expanded beyond the viewable area. Now I guess it's probably on the way out, but I don't see the point of simply perpetuating the 'throwaway culture' and getting a new one. Colours are still good, but sometimes look a bit 'sickly' to the left hand side.
Surely my monitor should last more than 2 years??

Wink

Make sure the refresh rate is set at something the monitor can actually work with. Try it on another pc to make sure it is the monitor and not the graphics card that is playing up, maybe worth updating the drivers for the graphics card anyway.

Take your graphics card out and reinsert it a couple of times. I had a screen that occasionally took on a shade of puce. After doing the above, problem solved. Also check your monitor socket on the graphics card. Has it been strained? Cracked tracks or solder joints?

Then again, it could be just a sick monitor

Cheers
