Post Browser Blues

Running XP, E6. All fine until I tried Google upgrade, which changes the 'Toolbar'. Now, I've lost 99% of my initial browser tools. No more options, file, back & fwd buttons etc. Any idea's? Dragging the mouse pointer didn't work, nor did re installing XP. Current browser is basically useless now. I have binned the Google toolbar but still stuck with an empty, useless Explorer browser.

With IE you should have at least the basic options like FILE EDIT VIEW FAVORITES TOOLS HELP available.. .Go into VIEW and select the submenu TOOLBARS see what is ticked there. . .This may change the appearance already.. .Further you can still stay in VIEW --> TOOLBARS and select the option CUSTOMIZE, this will ceratinly get you back on the old style...

Thanks for reply 310. Still no joy. I accessed this site via Yahoo Search! All upper left hand options are gone. Nothing! Only thing visible is the web page. Did full virus scan too. I'm clean. Got me tossed and it's downright frustrating. I also tried the restore option XP offers. Again, no joy. All usual browser functions ala file, options, buttons to press, favourites etc gone... <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

first, press F11 and see what happens, I guess your browser is in full screen mode.

to re-arrange read this here as well

To change the appearance of the Windows toolbar

You can add or remove standard toolbar buttons, use smaller toolbar buttons like the ones used in Microsoft Office, and change the order they are displayed on the toolbar. Just right-click the toolbar, and then click Customize. . .You can move or resize the Address bar and Links bar by dragging them up, down, left, or right. You can even move them into the menu bar! . .You can hide the Address bar or Links bar by right-clicking the toolbar, and then clearing the check mark for each item you want to hide. . .You can add items to the Links bar by dragging the icon from the Address bar or dragging a link from a Web page. . .You can rearrange items on the Links bar by dragging them to a new location on the bar.

Bingo! F11 worked, although something must have gone horribly wrong somewhere since XP ran a full disk check and came up with 9000 odd errors! Hopefully all well now. Thank you 310.
