Good evening clever people.
Can anyone explain to me in terms that an ATPL-student can understand how to turn a link in a PPRuNe posting like this (for example):
<a href="http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Recreation/Automotive/" target="_blank">http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Recreation/Automotive/</a>
into a working link without all the http:// gubbins etc showing, just a piece of text saying what the links about.
If you know what I mean. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

There is a group of ten buttons next to the "Instant Graemlins" selection where we type in our forum replies.
Press the "URL" button, have your URL link ready to type/paste and blindly follow each prompt until the whole process is finished.

no problem at all...
i type this now with spaces, otherwise it would not show how to spell...
let's say you want to give a link to the chat abbreviations and this link would show up as
[ url ] <a href="http://www.loganact.com/tips/afaik.html" target="_blank">http://www.loganact.com/tips/afaik.html</a> [ / url ]
but you want to simply have a link named go here
in this case just type [ url = <a href="http://www.loganact.com/tips/afaik.html" target="_blank">http://www.loganact.com/tips/afaik.html</a> ] go here [ / url ]
if you type this in without the spaces it gives you
<a href="http://www.loganact.com/tips/afaik.html" target="_blank"> go here </a>
this is made for pilots, thats why it is simple...
