Post previewing files

Used to be ever so handy previewing .jpgs with a single mouse click on the icon.

The thumbnail preview that used to be generated no longer appears, though other file types generate previews. I`ve obviously reset something somewhere....ideas?

OK, we need some clues.

What version of Windows are you running?
What version of IE are you running?

Cool

Right-click on the directory (ooops, folder) that you want to see the thumbnails of, select Properties/General and check the box at the bottom that says Enable thumbnail view. Voilá!

Otherwise see http://www.pcforrest.freeserve.co.uk/thumbs.htm

Explorer's thumbnail function is VERY slow and limited to a few filetypes. Far better to get the FREE Irfanview picture file viewer at http://www.irfanview.com/ - very fast, no bugs, copes with almost all image file types. About 1MB for the program and 2MB for the plugins. Register (optional) by sending Irfan $10 - he deserves it

Cheers Mac

Thumbs up

Good tip from MtK but the procedure must vary with the version of Windows.

In Win2K simply expand the "view" menu and select "thumbnails" (as opposed to icons, list, details etc). And it's bearably quick in Win2K with jpg, tif, gif, bmp, and psd(photoshop) but won't do pcx.
