Save Bandwidth ?

Having recently read the thread containing comments of slow page retrieval and server bandwidth penalties, the following may be of interest.
If, like me, you tend to use the 'Today's Active Topics' route, you spend some time waiting for the Topic listing to re-load after viewing a thread and hitting the 'Back' button.
I am able to avoid the wait for the Topic listing to re-load by using the facility of 'opening the page in a new window' (R-click on Netscape Navigator, not sure about IE )
That is instead of L-click on the topic to open, R-click instead. When the Topic is finished with, close the window ('X') and the Topic listing page is already there. No more delays or waste of bandwidth.
My ISP uses an Automatic Proxy Cache (transparent) to store commonly accessed pages. It would appear that the constantly changing banners are causing it (the proxy server) to assume that the page has totally changed and therefore forces a refresh.
Does this 'dodge' work for everybody, or is it due to my ISP/Cache set-up ?
Any comments ?

Wow! At first sight this seems to be winner. Times of 9 secs odd reduced to 3-4 secs to load a page. Not always, though, but nearly so. Never longer!
Thanks.
(Had to edit this to get the UBB format codes right. I can never remember them...)
