Thumbs up Cookie Cop!

Anyone got any experience of using Cookie Cop or similar?

It was recommended by Balpa on the back of their 'Airwaves' pamphlet and I have downloaded and installed it but since switched it off because it has prevented IE5 from contacting any sites at all. Basically I just wanted to know whether it is worth pursuing with the utility or whether there may be a better one for the job.

Perhaps one should not be so paranoid but it is nice to be able to control which sites leave you cookies and which ones try to obtain your personal data without you being aware. Anyone got any views on this?

If its only cookies that you want to control, Windows 95/98 does it for you.

Go - Start - Control Panel - Internet.
Click on 'Advanced' tab then scroll down to 'Cookies' and click in the circle for "Prompt before accepting cookies"

Thislets you decide if you want to accept a cookie or not. Be warned, browsing in this mode can be quite annoying

Thumbs up

I use Cookie Pal, best thing that I ever put on this machine and that includes windows..... Lets you have total control over all cookies.

Download from www.kburra.com or from one of the download sites.

Bengal - I did exactly the same as you - and found it to be an awful piece of kit. Wiped it within half an hour. Tried the IE method as above which seems to work.
