Administrator Privileges??

Not a matter of any urgency, but does anyone know how to log on as Administrator on a two machine peer-to-peer LAN??
I'm trying to install a 3D graphics program which has an 'install' icon but, when it's clicked, a screen message comes up saying something like 'this installation will modify system files. In order to install the program, log-on with administrator privileges or contact the system administrator'. Since I AM the administrator, how do I differentiate between my normal log-on and what this routine is looking for??
Any suggestions in simpleton-speak please!

Its a Link-Sys 10baseT; two desktops on a common hub. They network well but there doesn't appear to be any differentiation between them as to which is considered to be the 'Administrator'. I log on to both with the same password and the only difference is their identities on the net. Unfortunately, can find nowt in the manual to cover the problem.
