Question IEXPLORE caused a stack fault in module WSOCK32.DLL

In a vain attempt to get 'Flitepro' to run on my computer I downloaded the latest version of 'Direct X' now, when I log into PPRuNe and open any of the 'Topics' my computer announces "This programme has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" If I click on 'details' it gives the following information "IEXPLORE caused a stack fault in module WSOCK32.DLL etc. etc.... Any ideas how to remedy the situation will be much appreciated.
