Can't play YouTube

Suddenly I cannot open a YouTube clip or video. Working perfectly well a week or so ago.

While waiting for the info - any 'messages'? You need 'FlashPlayer' installed for YouTube

and

and

Installed/Updated lately?

Pop,

Try using Firefox, it has a neat tool for downloading "You Tube" clips directly from the clip.

Well I dunno!

I have checked out BOAC's links and that proved OK Tried Firefox, macromedia, adobe flash all work and although I can load YouTube it whirls around apparently loading but it doesn't.

Tried that this morning sir.

IF.....this helps. When I link to YT and while it tries to load the video, if I click on any of the links on the page - nothing......

The only new thing is that the star rating became highlighted when it opened.

Otherwise............

does the same happen on other sites with videos (e.g. google.video.com)?
And.. I reiterate the question already asked once before: do you get any messages in the UT window, or does your firewall try to say something to you?
So far sounds a bit mysterious ...

Perfect! Thanks daz.

No msgs Pierre, nothing.

As a matter of fact I had been finding BBC and Sky vids to test and they were all fine, click and away but YT will not go. In fact a YT page seems to be dead - to me anyway.

one offhand idea and one from a forum:
1) clear cookies (on firefox, go to tools, clear private data, and be sure to have checkmarked "cookies").
Try ...
2) add "&fmt=18" (without the quotes) at the end of the youtube URL in your browser's addresslist after selecting a movie...
Try ...

2 I took from a forum, apparently, this will try to load a different version from the requested clip, and seems to have resolved a few people's problem with loading..

Does any of this help?

Pierre.

We are half way there. I can now play YouTube on Firefox because it seems that Flash was not loaded on it when I installed it, did that and voila. But........it still won't play on IE6. Tried re-installing Flash but no joy.

Thanks again.
