Question Laptop VGA port to TV Scart?

Hi,

I'm wondering if I can connect my laptop, which only has a VGA output port (no S Video) to my TV via a scart input?!

I'm hoping to watch the BBC IPlayer on my TV.

Any advice? Thanks.

If you fancy a bit of DIY then look at: http://www.idiots.org.uk/vga_rgb_scart/

If not then just look on amazon or PCWorld web sites where you should find them already made up.

A Scart / VGA lead on its own wouldn't work - Digital Spy has some good information on why it won't work - at least, not without some serious effort, as green granite's link shows.

I bought one for my first laptop in 1991, so I guess they are still around
