www.pprune.org
Hi Guys,
Why dont you change the format to allow pprune.org to bring up the page and not have to always type "www".pprune.org?
It is a pain in the ass on websites.

If you just type pprune in the address bar, the shortcut Ctrl + Enter will add the www to the start and .com to the end.
This will work in Firefox and IE.
In Firefox the shortcut CTRL + Shift + Enter will add the www to the front and .org to the end.
You can get IE to do the same, but you must enter .org as the suffix in Tools > Internet Options > languages

Or why not add it to your 'favourites' drop down list next time you visit.
Then you won't have to type any of it, ever.
DOH!

This a wind up, right!
The simplicity to have things the way you want them is well..................my 8 year old grandaughter sets her own favourites with just one click, even though PPRuNe opens as first page. No problems at all.

Errmm, hesitant to upset the blissful unanimity here, but then again....
This website caters to professional pilots. By the very nature of their job, they are on the move. Away from their home computers.
Not everybody lugs around their own laptop either.
So yes, all the above tricks to shortcut PPRuNe are fine and dandy, but they only work on your OWN computer.
Log on downroute from the hotel's expensive business centre or from a painfully slow internet café and all of a sudden little-paddy's suggestion makes sense.
I find it no big deal to write out the full www.pprune.org/forums every time I log on from some godforsaken place and finding out where the / is located on various types of keyboards doesn't tax my abilities either, but just pprune.org would be easier.

Took me less than 1 second to type WWW.
I can see the benifits by not having to type this in a hotel room
Maybe an investment in a touch-typing course will be of benifit? you wont be restricted to using these new skills on one PC, biggest benefit is it'll all be stored in the top 2 inches of your head so you can take is places where you home PC can't go

Modified far more easily by yourself and your favourites list though, wildrover.
And if you can remember your login/password then surely the site URL shouldn't be an issue. Why worry about another 4 characters?
