Where has the wire split? Could easily be repairable

PS, Go to http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/de...NSU9WJDMKC41U5 , type the laptop model into the "model number" box, select "ek765ea" in the page that loads then pick "AC Adaptor" in the "keyword search" box. Then you can order one up.

Good luck!

I would second ebay, just purchased one, about £20 cheaper than Acer when the postage is included, and is identical to the origional, all the adapters are made by third parties as far as i am aware, put the third party manufacture in ebay or the model number.

I have repaired a split before too, chop the wire, strip the ends on either side, solder each the wires back to each other, and then put some tape over the join, works fine for me, and i only did it as the split was after the power pack, if its in the main power lead to the power pack from the wall it might just be a standard figure of either lead or that other one with three pins....

You could try a 'universal' unit, such as the Trust branded one, available from many retailers.
Aria do one for about £15, CCL do one for about £28

HP web site provides lists of resellers of HP spare parts; ok, it's not easy to find but they do have these lists on their site for each country - and some of these suppliers have web sites where you can order just using an HP part number. So if your old power block is dead (as opposed to lost) just take a look at the part number (unless you took the sticker off...)

yes thanks. Managed to find one on laptopsandspares website.

£30. They sent wrong one but I have had them send another one out. The wire isnt quite as long which is a shame but still it works.

Thanks for all your help.
