mouse pointer problem
Just got a new Dell,PC runing Vista Home Premium and on the whole I am satisfied with the set up apart from one small problem.
The mouse pointer on screen (the pointy finger /hand) does not work when directly over the item I want to click on, it needs to be a few mm below the item, trivial I know but when there is a list of choices it is easy to click on the wrong one.
Anyone out there any ideas for a quick fix? the screen is a Hanspree 19" widescreen (if that makes any difference)
Thanks mcc

mouse pointer problem on widescreen
Got that exact same issue.
Allready sent mail to Dell, but they say they only offer Hardware support :-(
Have my Dell XPS 420 since 1 month.
Allready looked around on the Internet for a solution some time ago, but no solutions...
The problem has something to do with the widescreen, I think.
Hope someone finds one soon.
Thanks !

Realy weird issue...
As I told before, the problem is solved after doing what PaperTiger mensionsed.
But... after a restart of the computer, the problem occurs again.
Don't understand what's happening.
And I cannot believe we are the only ones with that problem.
So, I'll keep searching for a solution and if someone-else has one... shoot !
Thx everyone,
Frédéric

If resetting the pointer scheme fixed it temporarily, it means you have an obsolete driver which reboots (resets the scheme) whenever you restart.
Here's the fix: http://www.dellcommunity.com/support...=66559#M167396
A bit tekkie, but ultimately all you have to do is download the latest driver from them.
