Google Earth No Longer Works
Sigh!
I recently updated Google Earth to the latest version. It no longer works.
My machine is an HP ZE4630US (American Version) laptop which has a RADEON IGP 320M video controller.
The machine crashes when I start Google Earth. There is a text window which goes by so fast I can't read any of it. The later explanation is that the ATI driver is at fault and that ATI does not have a solution. Grrrr!!
With my previous version of Google Earth one was given two options at installation, one of which had this same problem and the other worked fine.
Is there way to get the earlier version of Google Earth?
I'd rather not have to go back to a system restore point a week or so ago when I first installed this offending version of G.E. and lose other things since then.
Thanks for any suggestions.

When you downloaded the older version did it save to disc? If so it'll be there somewhere, usually <my docs>-<downloads>. If not try downloading it from a Warez site like Katz (it's free any way so a ripped of version is not illegal)

Try one of the following (actually they look to be run by the same outfit?)
http://oldapps.com/Google_Earth.php
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=Google%20Earth

Thank you both for your suggestions.
My main (desktop) computer failed about two months ago but I was able to copy the info from the HD onto an external HD. I found old versions of Google Earth (GE) there and installed Ver 3.0 It allowed the choice of renering engines and GE works fine with "OpenGL"
Then I downloaded Ver 4.0 and updated using it. IT NOW ALLOWS ME THE CHOICE OF RENDERING ENGINES.
Weird!!!!
The bottom line is that I have a recent version of G.E. which uses OpenGL and works on this laptop.
Thank you both.
