Do you think I have a virus or hardware issue?

I have a powersave prob with comp monitor, I am accessing via safe mode and maybe thinking I need to try a few things like reinstalling video card driver and turning off power save mode rebooting doesn't seem to work, it just cracks it during startup and goes into powersave and have to hold button on pc to turn it off.

The monitor just turns itself off at startup. Weird as we didn't do anything !!

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

EJ

By the sound of it, it seems more like a hardware prob.

Have you another PC or laptop to test the monitor on - or another monitor to test the PC on?

Suggestion- take out the vid card, blow on the contacts lightly and put it back in the slot- worked for me once!

The best thing for cleaning contacts is a very soft pencil rubber (eraser to the colonials) rub very gently and remove any bits with a clean paint brush, but don't do it very often.
