504 Gateway time-out
Hi all
Info.....XP home, IE6
Have noticed on some sites (as on here) where a banner/advert should be, the area/box for above displays shows "504 Gateway time-out" any ideas?

Not sure if it's any use to you?

Basically
One server did not receive a timely response from another server that it was accessing while attempting to load the web page or fill another request by the browser. This usually means that the other server is down or not working properly.

Your PC is quite safe, the banners at the top are either kept on the pprune server (reliable for the forum) or they are on a third party server.
Aerodynamics for example design their banner and save it to their server along with their website files, they then advertise on pprune by just giving the link that we then put into the web page code. But as you've seen, if they need to reset their server or it goes offline then you have no advert
