MS Office quickie

The guys upstairs from me have a borked install of Office 2000. I have a licence for Office 2003 I can let them have, so we're thinking of an upgrade. They're using Outlook & what I want to know is if I remove 2000 & add 2003, will they lose their contacts & emails? Contacts not too much of a problem, but emails would be.

I should say that all the export features are kerchinged on this install - none of them work, but IIRC, things like mail & contacts are held in files within the system somewhere like local settings/application data/ms/outlook etc. So would windows retain them during an uninstall??

Back up all the Outlook data files. Then do the uninstall and install 2003, finally, copy the files back. You may need to import the data from the various files, not sure.
