Sony VAIO PCG105
Friends,
My Sony notebook has crashed and when I try to insert Recovery CDs, it doesn't load beyond 11 percent. After 11 percent uploading the CD stops and I get a message:
Application Error: The instruction at "0x77f5222c" referenced memory at "0x3820006d". The memory couldn't be written.
I cannot even excess my current Windows XP Home edition. Each time I try to reboot the machine I get this message:
Error uploading opetaring system.
Please help !!!

Looks like it could be a memory failure.
If all the RAM is on removable sticks, try removing and reseating it.
You can get RAM testing software such as http://www.memtest86.com - boot from the CD and run the diagnostics.
If you can identify a duff RAM stick you could just replace it.
Worst case is your PC needs to be repaired or replaced. However, the hard disk should be OK, so your data should be safe. Put the disk in an external USB caddy, or hitch it up to a 2.5-3.5" IDE adapter in a desktop PC.

Dear SAAB,
I will never forget your help. In these times when nobody has time for anybody, you actually took pains to send me the message. Thanks again.
I will try it.... let's see if it works.
