Antivirgear

Got a pesky little shield shape flashing in my systems tray (red 'X' alternating with a blue'?') which suggests I download Antivirgear to get rid of infections. Neeedless to say, I haven't, but none of Ccleaner, Adaware, Spybot S&D, A-squared or Norton will get rid of it. Google is full of ideas which I have looked at, but don't know which to trust?

Any ideas please?

Regards
mcdhu

SmitFraudFix will remove it. Google & read the instructions, it's not the easiest thing to use. Symantec also has manual removal instructions.

Seanbean, Bushfiva .........sorry to come back but Google again threw up a bewildering plethora of suggestions for SmitFraudFix. Any chance you could post a link to the precise page you got the info from. Many thanks

Cheers

There are several places to download it, I believe this one is reliable, and has a good set of removal instructions. (Appear to be, anyway, I haven't had to test them myself.) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic108399.html

Wot he said.

The actual home page of the proggy is at http://siri.geekstogo.com/, but you need the instructions at bleepingcomputer and/or elsewhere to make sure you do the job right.
