Watching and downloading UK TV in the Middle East

I am shortly relocating to live in Jordan and wondering what I need to download BBC or ITV programmes if possible. I was there in the summer and saw both channels advertising downloads of sorts but because I was outside the UK I couldn't watch them.
Its the same with commercial radio channels, only available for UK customers (apart from the BBC of course)
Any ideas as I have a good broadband connection there, along with a decent Sony Vaio
