Looking for software that enables me to read, write and control this device from my PC by cable, bluetooth, wireless int or whatever.
I've found Mobiler, which is an excellent remote control device, but I want to read, keep and send SMS, and read call history etc. (Just like with my old Nokia
)
Clearly, I'm googling the wrong things...........
Help!!!

Something like: SimpleSMS
After re-reading your orignal question, SimpleSMS won't help as this is SMS from PPC to Phone.
But you should be able to use any Windows/Linux based application that supports the normal GSM AT command set e.g DesktopSMS (which I haven't tried found via Google) or if you have a Mac then you have this capability out of the box via MacOS X addressBook or 3rd party BluePhoneElite

Thanks mdc,
DesktopSMS works as advertised, sending SMS' from the PC using the phone.
Skype also sends SMS' from the PC, in this case using the Skype network.
However, that's not quite what I was after, although it's part of it.
I primarily want to be able to maintain all records and details of calls and text messages on the PC, regardless of whether they originated on the phone/PDA or on the desktop. Microsoft ActiveSync will transfer files and Outlook related information to and from the PC, but not the phone records.
Oxygen Phone Manager is a good example, but seems to be primarily for Nokia and Samsung.
Any other ideas welcome. Freeware or commercial.

PIMBackup ?
Would allow you to access the data, but would require additional effort to unzip the resultant pib file and import data into Excel, Notepad etc.
