google earth

I set up google earth and it works but every time I zoom into a place, it has annoying camera icons all over it. If I click the icon it shows a picture someone has posted of that site, and they are good pictures, but they obscure the scene. How can I turn off the picture symbols to clear the view of the scene? Is there an option for that?

Go to the Layers Pane on the left side of the screen and un-check the Geographic Web box. That should then do it.

Try clearing the tick boxes in the layers section in the bottom left corner. I cleared all of mine and now don't get the photo's. Hope it works for you.

Some of those may be the Panoramio layer too, clear that if it's a pain. I agree that it may be easier to uncheck all those layers, then selectively add in any you find useful.
