USB connection is slow
Is there anyway I can speed up the connection to the USB on my laptop?
Transferring data take 10 times as long, litterally, on my laptop than on my desktop regardless of what USB memory I am using.

Is the laptop perhaps USB1.1 and the desktop USB2? That would explain a large part of the difference.
If it matters, then you can buy a PCMCIA USB2 card that will give you the faster speed.

If the laptop is USB2, then the problem lies elsewhere.
What do you get in the Task Manager CPU use screen when it's idling? What does it do if you plug in your USB memory stick?
