Computer Clock Speeding Up - Why?
I know that if the battery on your motherboard is dying your computer clock will begin to slow. Well mine is speeding up by about 10 minutes a day. Does anyone know why this is? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Found this, amongst other things, on google groups - might help.
Clock speedup is sometimes related to the CMOS Battery starting to go
bad...you might want to replace the battery.
Or sometimes you get a bad clock reading from day to day if you've CMOS A type virus. located in the boot section of your hard disk .

I had this happen to me. My clock was steady at losing 2-3 secs a day, then for a period of a few weeks it was gaining up to 30-45 secs, finally and for no apparent reason it returned to the initial state.
Most odd. Perhaps yours will do the same?
