How to reverse auto internet connection

Hi folks, help please!

I thought I'd like automated connect when select Internet Explorer, however, having changed it, I don't like it!!! When it's difficult to get a connection sometimes, I just can't see what's happening.

So how do I put it back please, I've searched everywhere?

I'm using:- XP Home - Service pack 2, Internet Explorer 7 via Tiscali Broadband.

Thanks MTB

Just an idea - have you tried going to Outlook Express - Tools - Options? Outlook Express shares connection settings with Internet Explorer.
