A massive security hole has been discovered in all versions prior to 8
Writing about the flaw Symantec security researcher Hon Lau said: "The ease [with] which this weakness can be exploited is breathtaking."

As stated in the article: You can mitigate this problem by upgrading to Adobe Reader 8.

If v8 fixes it, one would presume that Adobe were aware of it but hoped that nobody would discover it
