Website not loading?
The UK CAA website at www.caa.co.uk is not working on my computer. I have had no problem on any other site that I try. I have tried using Firefox wich says waiting for www.caa.co.uk... , and IE6 (I dont want to upgrade to 7) Wich says it is opening the page.
Does anyone have any ideas what this may be? I am totaly confused
(P.S, Please dont put it in tech speak as I dont understand it usually)
Thanks Smile!!!

Works fine for me.
Try to ping www.caa.co.uk - it should resolve to 193.113.179.203. You won't get a response, but just resolving the name would show that DNS is OK.

To ping the site
click Start and then select run
type cmd in run window and enter
you will then get a small black cmd.exe window
type ping www.caa.co.uk and enter
you should see that the dns resolves that site to 193.113.179.203. or not!

OK - that's the correct response!
hmmm
I'm not an expert myself - so will have to hand back to others for further diagnosis.

193.113.179.203 is indeed the IP address of www.caa.co.uk - but it doesn't respond to pings.
If you try to connect to the IP address, you'll get the answer
No web site is configured at this address.
If you look it up, you'll find that 193.113.179.203 belongs to BT Corporate.
If you try to connect to http://www.caa.co.uk it should work. Does for me.

I sometimes used to get similar errors with certain websites, best way i found was to reboot my router/modem. this seemed to sort it 9 times out of 10, the other 1 time it is a problem at the isp's end.
