Car Alarms

Hiya Folks

Your assistance here would be very much appreciated. Probably not quite the correct forum, but close enough!

I drive a Honda which is fitted with a SERPI STAR alarm system. Apparently, these alarm systems were fitted on mass to Japanese cars when they arrived in the UK.

My dilemma is that one of my alarm fobs has stopped working - battery changed and LED still failed to illuminate. So, I pop down to the Honda garage to be told that SERPI STAR went bust a few years back.

I have since managed to aquire a replacement alarm fob. THe only thing I'm struggling with is how to pair/recode the fob to my car.

Lots of googling has failed to produce a solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

AV8

See if you can get any help here:

Or try this. There is a lot of programming info for the fobs.

On my cars the onboard 'computer' is taught to recognise the fob: there is no change to the fob's output.

Again on mine, you short a wire in the boot to ground and then have so many seconds to set the fob's code into the car. If you only have one fob, you just do it twice.

There are..or were, loads of fobs for sale on e-bay. Mine would have cost $200 with programming, but I paid $21 to a NY company who put a crib-sheet in the box.

Do you not have a Honda [thread SERPI] forum? I'm on the Caddy one for everything I need to know. Fantastic info.
