Sound problems
G'day
Started having sound problems last week using XP Pro,
sound works using Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and streaming audio, but sound doesn't work in Quicktime, mpg's, and flash games.
AVG and AdAware & didn't find anything nasty, and a look around in the control panel didn't find anything out of sorts.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.
Edited to add that I use Mozilla and Opera for games, quicktime, etc, no sound with either one.

If there is no sound in QuickTime 6 for Windows and other programs are working properly, you may need to change the "Sound Out" setting for QuickTime (from the file bar in QuickTime --> Edit --> Preferences --> QuickTime Settings --> Sound Out). Try switching from "DirectSound" (default option) to one of the "waveOut" settings (specifically, the waveOut setting that references your installed audio driver (I.E. "waveOut: Yamaha SXG Driver"). Restart any active QuickTime windows for this change to take effect
Good Luck !
