Outlook Express

Quick Question
I use outlook express at work, and have just got a pocket PC. I know that I can access my e-mails from it, but I am having trouble getting the account password. Is there any way I can find this out without having to contact the IT department, who will charge like a plumber at 2am Sunday morning!

Thanks

Since the password is blanked in OEX, the only recourse you have is to obtain it from the IT guy who set it up. Pucker up boy...

Hello,

Since the password is blanked in OEX, the only recourse you have is to obtain it from the IT guy who set it up. Pucker up boy...

Few small proggies reveal the password (******) just by passing over your mouse cursor.....
I guess..they are less costly as instead the use of a IT specialist or others named like this......
Cessna I Plate....I hope this help you.....

Regards.

If your Pocket PC OE is compatible with the iaf extensions an easy -and almost a secret - oh well now I've let the cat out of the bag.... way to move accounts is to export them from your main computer as a file.

Click Tools, then Accounts, then highlight the account(s) you wish to copy and click the export button and save. Move this file to any OE equipped computer and click Tools, Accounts then click the import button, navigate to your exported .iaf file and you are in business.

OTherwise a local nerd with sniffing software can pickup your username and password since both are sent in clear text during OE send and receive - which is a good reason why you should have wireless networks using some form of WEP encryption and also why when on the road using broadband, one should check one's email via the web based encrypted interface most ISPs and companies offer. Other choice would be to use your companies VPN if they have.

As The Sailor has advised there are progs for showing the dots - this would be pre-XP as the dots don't actually represent anything in Windows XP.

Hello,

Password Spyer 2k v2.6

DESCRIPTION:
How many times have you saved your password in your favorite program only to forget it after a while? What would happen if you buy a new PC and need to use that password on it? Even worse, what happens in case of a computer crash? Would you loose your password forever? How will you be able to recover all those passwords hidden behind the asterisks? What would you do?
The answer is easy, use Password Spyer 2k to retrieve the password.
Password Spyer 2k is a password recovery tool for windows. Password Spyer 2k reveals the password hidden by asterisks (***) in all windows version (including 2000 and XP). You can use it to recover lost or forgotten passwords in most windows applications such as outlook, cute ftp, ws ftp, ICQ and others.
Most windows applications offer the possibility to save your password to make it easier for you to use the software. After some time, most do often forget the password and have difficulties re-installing the software again or changing the password. Password Spyer 2k allows you to recover this password.
Most important features:
Find out asterisk-password within all Windows-System including Win-9x, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP (all versions).
Recover password in Internet Explorer (including IE 6.0), Simply click "Show web passwords" button, Password Spyer 2k will display a listing of all passwords hidden behind asterisks in all opened IE pages.
Password Spyer 2k supports two methods for passwords recovery/revealing for better password retrieval.
I use it...and it's work......under Windows XP Professional SP2.....

Regards.
