Web Sites and viruses (viri?)

Quick question. I've got a newly refurbished desktop running XP, hard drive was cleaned and reformatted after a nasty infection. All the McAffee bells and whistles are working, as I've gotten notice that a virus and a trojan horse have been detected and removed from my machine.

I noticed the second time that the notification came while I was on the same web site as the first notice. Is it too hasty to jump to the conclusion that this web site (of the aviation kind...not this one) is the source of these? Would it be out of line for me to send a nicely worded comment to the operator of the web site with my concern? I don't know for sure that it is the source of the bugs, but if it were, wouldn't they like to check it out?
